Fourth phase had no open registrations but around 5,000 testers were chosen from the previous pool of applicants. Third phase had a limit of 2,500 and one could register through the official website and various external sites (GameShots, BBSGame, GameZone21, JudeAngels, AdenaHill, PlayForum, and DreamOnGames). Second phase had no additional registrations (testers were selected from previous applications). First one had open registrations on the official website and 400 people were selected from an estimated 142,000 that applied. Finally the Open Beta had open registrations and everyone that applied could get in. First one had no public registrations, the testers were privately invited by NCSOFT (Lineage1 players and others), second phase had open registrations on the official website but NCSOFT only accepted the ones that met its criteria.
